'm back for good. We've booked our holiday in Hawaii for October so its time to get serious about health and weight loss.
July is basically a de-tox month.
1. Limit sugars to natural sugar. Fruits and honey for instance are good.
2. Restrict calories by restricting processed foods. Fill up on fruits and veggies. 999 kcal is the maximum allowed per day. Honestly, I'm aiming for 750 but if I allow myself more than that I'm more likely to stick to my goal.
3. Don't go crazy on condiments. Salad dressings and sauces are a huge part of my caloric and sugar intake. Limit to humus, greek yogurts, and homemade dressings.
4. Meat is allowed but only at one mealtime per day and with smart choices. Homemade grilled chicken breast over store-baught processed deli meat.
5. Sweat it out!! Exercise 7 hrs per week. I need to get a gym membership so bad weather won't be an excuse.
6. Hydrate! I'm going to buy a cute waterbottle to keep filled all day. Ice water and unsweet tea will be the only things allowed after my morning coffee. I drink way too many diet drinks which are horrible for several reasons. Time to cut those out for good.
This isn't just a means to lose weight. Lately I've been distracted and 'loopy' feeling. Its hard to concentrate and keep my focus. I'm sure this all boils down to a poor diet high in sugar. I know where my downfall will lie... sweets and starchy carbohydrates. I just need to plan ahead and make the right choices. I'm sure the choices will be easier as I start to feel better physically. And of course, as I hit my goal weights. My starting weight yesterday was 134 lbs. This morning was 133 lbs.
I suppose the high point of the day was running 9 miles, walking 2 more, then completely avoiding the 5 pound bag of chocolate in the pantry! Still trying to keep dinner under 400 cals to keep my total of the day under 750 cals. Dinner will be a salad and steamed green beans. Someone baught Italian cannolis and my bf is already making a big deal that I said I won't be having one. I'm not sure what's going to come about when dessert comes out of the fridge. Wish me luck! Here I go!

HAHA! Twin, you're so wonderful. I love you dearly. If I ever ran 9 miles.. I would die.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you didn't fall too much off track. It has been very difficult getting back on track. I am glad to be back and glad that you're back.
Stay strong. We're going to make it through this together. Always.
Good luck with your plan! I like it. I hope it helps you feel a little better. Make sure you still get plenty of non-sugary carbs to keep your energy levels stable though. Also, when I was cutting back on Diet Coke, I started using low calorie juice-based cordial and water flavorings which definitely helped with the cravings.
ReplyDelete5lb of chocolate, jesus. It bugs me when my mum bulk-buys chocolate like that - she doesn't do it often, but every now and then she'll order a giant box of chocolate bars on clearance online, and they're gone within a week.
Take care lovely <3
P.S, what is it with Americans and green beans?! Down here they're no more special than any other vege.
xx
October. that's still a bit away, huh? but Hawaii! that sounds so lush.
ReplyDelete750 is a safe number. not sure why. it just LOOKS like a safe number too.
okay, instead of reading "limit to humus, greek yoghurt, etc" i just read, "limit to humans" and i just snorted.
i have a gym membership. i now go to the gym just because i don't want to waste my gym membership. i go there only 2-3 days a week tbh, but i wouldn't be doing anything at all without one.
good luck, gorgeous. <3
also, that running and walking is insane.
comment reply to my blog:
periods always explain a lot. i always start my period around the same time +/- 2 days. it's like "i'm going to eat a cow, what gives?" and then i look at my period calendar, and i notice: whoa, whoa, there. 1 week away from period week that does explain a lot. i'm one of those people that like to workout in a fasted state more than a "i had breakfast, lunch and i'm just going to the gym" state.
"I wish you the best of luck during Ramadan, sweetie! You're fasting for more than just wanting to lose weight. This fast has purpose. Sending you lots of positive vibes and hugs. <3" thank you, darling.
