Tomorrow will be difficult food wise. It's mine and my fiancee's day off. He's a big eater! Never gains weight either. Maybe I can coax him into a morning run.
We were showering together and out of the blue he tapped on my collarbone. I asked him what that was for and he said my bones are becoming too prominent. As much as I wanted to bask in the compliment, I know logically that a loss of 5 lbs isn't enough to make a visible difference for anyone of my height.
He doesn't know what my current weight is. Stepping in the scale is a sacred ritual for me. Every morning, I use the loo, undress, put in my contacts, then officially weigh in before I've had anything to eat or drink. I do weigh myself before bed but i know its always heavier so I don't consider that my true weight. My morning weigh in is the one that counts.
Anyone else have a ritual like this?

darling, i love you, but "muscle weighs more than fat" doesn't actually make any sense. mostly because it's like saying if you take one gram of something it doesn't equal to one gram of another thing. muscle takes up less room than fat for the same pound, and thus, makes you look smaller but the weight on the scale is still the same is what you mean.
ReplyDeletei'm sorry i sound like a dick at the beginning of the post. it's a slight pet peeve of mine. #SamSucksArse
you know what i like about putting in some muscle in place of the fat though? when you do get to the weight you previously were, your clothing would actually fit better/be looser than it was previously. true story.
"I know logically that a loss of 5 lbs isn't enough to make a visible difference for anyone of my height." you'd be surprised. i gained 20lbs and i'm 5'2.5" but somehow, people are asking me if i've lost weight. a lecturer actually stopped me once and told me "you're looking a little thin. are you alright?"
the only thing i've got is that i somehow gained some form of muscle or non-fat related weight. and i have no idea what the hell that is. my clothes all fit, except for the ones i refuse to try on (though i've tried that on before and on a day where i'm not bloated, everything that used to fit me 20lbs ago still fits).
that used to be exactly my ritual. now, i'm trying to put days in and out. i'm recovering from this stupid disorder goddammit. i'm doing good now.
oh, man, your net, yoru burn, your intake....that makes me raise an eyebrow.

Do you take measurements at all? I find they help give the satisfaction of losing numbers even if the scale isn't moving.
ReplyDeleteI think 5lbs can make a difference, especially if you're gaining muscle. When it's real weight and not just water. Even at 6'1", 5-10lbs can be noticeable.
I can't stand to weigh myself at night anymore. Granted, I'm still only using the Wii and not the proper scales. Some mornings I weigh in several times across the first few hours, but the first one is the 'official' one.
Hope you have a good weekend <3
